September 1, 2009 by Dan Beatty · Leave a Comment

In internet marketing and direct sales the most important aspect of actually making a sale is what and how you write to your prospective buyer, in other words, the sales copy. There are many different opinions about how to do sales copy, for the majority if you really want to sell something you will need to hire a copywriter; however have you seen how much a copywriter, a good one, charges? A good copywriter is worth the price you pay because they will be able to write something that will make you more money than doing it yourself. In fact, it may mean the difference between actually getting sales and not. With that said, many of us can not afford the risk of hiring a copywriter until we already have some sales under our belts, so we need to learn how to write copy ourselves. Here are four tips that have helped my sales copy actually sell.

Mindset: So You Wanna Be An Overnight Success, Eh?

September 1, 2009 by Matt Detrick · Leave a Comment

Wake up, grab a cup of your favorite beverage, pull up a chair and get ready to get your mind right. Yessir (or ma’am) we’re talking about mindset and getting back to the basics in this month’s issue of Internet Marketer Magazine.

So many people (myself included before I got “it” – what is “it” anyways?) chase the next big internet marketing launch for fear of being left behind. While true that online one month is equivalent to about a year in the offline world, if you have no use for the next big shiny product, what good is it going to do to buy it and have it sit on your virtual shelf collecting electronic particle dust?

Mindset is a tricky monster and what you hear here today may go against anything that intuitively feels like the comfortable thing to do. Here we go, flying in the face of untold lands, though usually what has served me well in developing a focused mindset that leads to “overnight success” is counterintuitive.

Michael Copeland: Getting Back to Basics

September 1, 2009 by Michael S. Copeland · 1 Comment

For me, getting back to basics means to take off all that extra gear you have on and just go for a walk.  Just take a step.  Just one step in the right direction, the direction you want to go with your business.

As Internet Marketers, we learn too much.  We know too many techniques and tactics.  We can’t launch without this or that.  We have to have the right button, and graphics, and audio, and video.  We need to know copywriting, auto responders, affiliate programs, and lots of other stuff.

Let me tell you something:  NO YOU DON’T

You do not need any of that stuff to launch a product or service online.

No matter if you have a brick and mortar business or are solely online, these are the things you need to make money online:

Ross Goldberg: The Ultimate Leverage For Any Internet Marketer

Would you believe that one single thing can make your business either easier or nearly impossible?  Relationships and connections are more important with an internet based business than with an offline company.  It can literally make or break the future of your company, generate massive amounts of income, or cost you dearly if you don’t have the right relationships in place.

The key to success with business relationships is to make it about more than business.  If I walked up to you and said “Hey!  I have a great product you should recommend to your friends and customers right away!”, you would laugh to the point of tears.  It isn’t about your offer or product, it’s about you and the person you want to work with.

Matt Bacak: The Internet Millionaire Business Model

September 1, 2009 by imm · Leave a Comment

On the internet I’m known as “The Powerful Promoter” because I made my first $1,000,000 promoting other people’s products.  I make millions every year online.  I’ve been invited to speak at some of the biggest IM events such as the World Internet Summit.  I’ve been a #1 Bestselling Author.  Last year I did a one week promotion that set a record for the largest customer acquisition in the history of the IM industry-14,987 units sold in 7 days.

However, here’s something others probably don’t think about when they think of me.  Years ago I went totally bankrupt and lost everything I had.  I remember how it was to get a website up and pray that people would buy my products.  I remember the frustration of being short on my bills, the pressure I felt from my family who said to go get “a real job,” and not having the money to buy my kids birthday and Christmas presents.

One day when I felt like giving up, I took a good hard look at myself in the mirror and thought about exactly how things got so bad.  I had been using the Bankruptcy Model in my business.  What is the Bankruptcy Model?  It’s a business plan where you jump on the bandwagon for every new money making method you discover.  You hear about making money selling Forex information, so you jump into the Forex Market.  You hear about flipping domains, so you go buy 200 new domains.  And on and on and on.

Here’s one reason why the Bankruptcy Model doesn’t work.  Because you aren’t able to build any leverage or resources that feed off one another.  Instead you do the opposite by stretching yourself thinner and thinner like a rubber band until you pop and go bankrupt.  Using the Bankruptcy Model, everything you’re doing doesn’t contribute to building the same business.  You spread yourself in several directions that are unrelated to each other.  Can’t you see how that would cripple you financially instead of skyrocketing your income through the roof?

By analyzing the Bankruptcy Model in my own business, I knew I needed a new focus, something that would build a real business.  So I went searching for the answers.  I would listen to the stories of those who had made it big because they had an email list, watching them make a lot of money sending out emails all the while wishing it was me.

That realization was powerful, but perhaps my biggest realization came to me one day when I had the privilege of talking to a billionaire.  I asked him, “How do you make billions?”  He leaned over and whispered this secret to me, “Matt, if you want to make money, then sell products and services, but if you want to become insanely rich, then create and control markets.”  At that point a light bulb went off in my head.  Building an e-mail list is like creating a market that you can control and that’s why it must work, I thought.

I dropped the Bankruptcy Model on its ugly head, and everything I did from that day on contributed to building my e-mail list—to creating and controlling one market so I could become insanely rich like the billionaire told me.  Finally, I had truly discovered the Internet Millionaire Business Model.  Here are 3 tips that will help you use the same model that made me my first million and continues to make me millions to this day.
