October 26, 2009 by Matthew Sherborne · Leave a Comment

Have you ever wanted one of your website posts to explode in popularity and achieve hundreds, to thousands of visitors within an hour or two? This phenomenon happens when people share your content with their network of friends and is known as, “Going Viral.” In just a few moments I’ll share with you some proven ways you can implement this effect in your own content to get the similar results.

First, let’s cover a common misconception. Submitting your post to a social bookmarking site and having it become wildly successful doesn’t usually just happen. It takes some careful planning and setup ahead of time to get great results.

Sure, you can create a post and submit it to a social bookmarking site to create a simple, one-way backlink. There’s no magic to submitting for a single backlink, just visit the social bookmarking site and submit your link.

Simple one-way backlinks are useful, but the real action happens when you use a social bookmarking strategy. You do this by leveraging the power of social networking, combined with interesting content, to boost your website’s exposure.

Eric Vogel: Why You, as a Business Owner, Should Be Using Social Media

October 26, 2009 by Eric Vogel · Leave a Comment

Popular Social Media sites are hitting the mainstream. You can’t listen to the radio or watch TV without hearing terms like Twitter, Facebook or Tweeting. CNN, Ashton Kutcher, Ellen Degeneres and even Oprah are on and talking about them. A recent episode of “My Boys” centered around the topic of Facebook. Every character had a different opinion about the relevance of Facebook to his or her life or work. And that really mirrors life. In every circle there are people who love social media and there are those who just don’t get it. There are some who would only use it for socializing while others are fully on board and utilizing it for their business.

As a Social Media Consultant, I spend hours researching and evaluating these sites and associated applications and am definitely of the mindset that every business should be utilizing these tools to create a presence online.

Let’s go over just three of the main reasons why businesses should use social media.

1. Branding

Carrie Wilkerson: Next Up — Social Media! What’s all the HYPE about?

October 26, 2009 by Carrie Wilkerson · Leave a Comment

Don’t Wait to Figure it Out

I am a case study in, “Don’t wait until you have it figured out before you take action.”

That being said, I take massive action, and when I don’t get the results I hoped for, I evaluate, readjust, and take more massive action. This seems to work for me.

Somehow, I have grown my online audience and lists to about 100,000 people with no paid traffic. (Shhh, don’t tell John Reese or those Stomper folks.) I used traditional list-building methods for building a list of 24,000 in my first 10 months online.

Now let me tell you how I doubled that list again in 6 months….two words – SOCIAL MEDIA!

Let me explain!

David B King: Top 3 Social Media Success Drivers

October 26, 2009 by David B King · 1 Comment

Social Media is changing the way information is transferred online and it is effecting our businesses more and more in either a negative or positive way. In this article I am going to share what I feel are the top 3 most important success drivers in social media for you and your business. I know that if you take action on these and implement them correctly your business will grow from referrals and buzz from these different social media websites.

The First thing that a lot of companies get wrong right off the bat is their image. Have you ever seen a company and checked out some of their social media profiles and then thought differently of them after you saw what their social presence online was? I sure have!

It is extremely important to have a professional image in social media, you want to have the design tailored to what you want your business to portray to the marketplace. Some companies have social media profiles but have plain backgrounds and nothing is really complete in the profile. It is extremely important to fill brand your business and establish a image in the prospects mind. If I see a company with a free background i think of cheap products or services and i won’t even bother doing business with them. If they cannot represent themselves as a business who would want to do business with them?

Your image plays an important role not only in branding yourself but it plays an important role in the prospects mind. Prospects see you as an established company or they see you as amateurs. By branding yourself and your image you have that positioning that the prospect is looking for and your conversion rate for everything get’s bumped automatically. Simply put, fill in your social media profiles and get a custom design to brand and establish yourself.

The next thing I want to talk about is important for you to understand from a long-term business growth mindset.
